Make the pinto bean filling
1. In a large sauce pan, heat your avocado oil and fry minced garlic until it becomes light 
golden in color 
2. Add in the pinto beans and cook on medium, adding a little reserved liquid as necessary
3. Add in your cilantro and mix in
4. Add in the all the spices and cook together for another 2 minutes, adding more liquid as 
necessary before removing from the heat, allow it to cool to room temperature 

Assemble the puris 
1. Arrange the puris on a serving platter. Using your fingers, gently crack open the puris
2. Using a small spoon, fill the puris with a small portion of the beans mixture, diced cactus 
nopalitos, and salsa
3. Garnish to taste with minced jalapeños, red onion, sour cream, and a squeeze of fresh lime 
4. Serve immediately 

Ingredients

  • 20 puris
  • 2 teaspoons avocado oil 
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 can of La Costena pinto beans, strained and liquid reserved
  • 2 tablespoon chopped cilantro 
  • 2 teaspoon chili powder 
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper 
  • 1 teaspoon cumin 
  • 1 teaspoon paprika 
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes 
  • 1/2 cup Homestyle Mexican Salsa
  • 1/2 cup Tender Cactus Nopalitos, diced
