Sopa Mulata is an easy, and satisfying soup for those cold rainy days!


  • 1 Chopped garlic clove
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped onion
  • 1 can La Costeña refried black beans
  • 3 cups prepared chicken stock
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 2 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 pinch ground cloves
  • Sliced La Costeña serrano peppers to taste
  • Cream
  • Cilantro leaves


Fry garlic and onion in the oil. Add beans and chicken stock and bring to a boil. Season with cumin, coriander, clove, salt and pepper. Garnish with serranos, cream and cilantro leaves.
