Make your own Fiesta with this Mexican Flag Three-Layer Gelatin recipe! This deliciously creative desert is perfect for the upcoming Mexican Independence Day “16 de Septiembre” festivities! We recommend treating yourself to our favorite Mexican gelatin brand, Congelli!

INGREDIENTS:

LIME LAYER:

  • 2 packages of Congelli lime gelatin
  • 2 cup boiling water
  • Cool with ice cubes

CREAM CHEESE LAYER:

  • 2 tablespoons cold water
  • 2 tablespoon unflavored gelatin
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened

STRAWBERRY LAYER:

  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 2 packages of Congelli strawberry gelatin
  • Cool with ice cubes
  • Whipped topping, optional

INSTRUCTIONS:

Dissolve lime gelatin in boiling water; Pour into an 11-in. x 7-in. dish; refrigerate until set.

In a small saucepan, sprinkle unflavored gelatin over cold water; add milk. Heat over low heat, stirring until gelatin is completely dissolved. In a medium bowl, place the soften cream cheese, and add the saucepan’s mixture until smooth. Spread over lime layer; refrigerate until set.

Dissolve strawberry gelatin in boiling water; add ice to cool it down, wait around 10 minutes. Carefully spoon on top of the cream cheese layer. Refrigerate until set.

Cut into squares. Garnish with whipped topping if desired. 

Yield:10 servings
